Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday accepted the no-confidence motion moved by the Congress, on behalf INDIA alliance, against the Narendra Modi government on the situation in Manipur. Congress deputy leader in the Lower House Gaurav Gogoi moved the motion.
The Speaker is yet to decide on the date and time for the motion. "I will discuss with the leaders of all parties and inform of you of an appropriate time to take this up for discussion," Birla said.

The INDIA on Tuesday decided to move the no-confidence motion after hectic parleys with alliance partners. "The INDIA alliance is together and this is the idea of the INDIA alliance. Congress party's leader will be moving the motion. We feel that it is our duty to use this last weapon to break the arrogance of the government and make them speak on Manipur," Tagore said.
