While shopping malls across metro cities like Delhi and Bengaluru were allowed to re-open during the unlock phases, malls in Mumbai still await state government’s decision to resume operations. However, malls across Mumbai Metropolitan Region feel they are well prepared to ensure safety and hygiene norms inside their possession. CNBC-TV18 did a ground check to find out how safe it will be for people to visit malls once permissions are granted to start operations.

For visiting malls in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, after the lockdown measures are relaxed, people will have to follow mandatory safety and hygiene norms set by the respective malls. Visitors will be required to have the Aarogya Setu app installed in their phones, which will have to display the green sign. Alongside, they will have to go through thermal screening, oximeter check and will have to pass through sanitizing tunnels installed at entrances. Keeping the safety of customers as well the staff at priority, malls are already undergoing sanitization drives at regular intervals. Staffs in PPE kits will ensure deep cleaning of shops though cold fogging & spraying alongside cleaning of the surface from time to time.
