Banks in different states across the country will remain closed for 11 days in February 2024. As per the holiday list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the
bank holidays in February also include four Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.
As per the RBI guidelines, all the public sector banks, private sector banks, foreign banks, and cooperative banks will remain closed on national holidays and regional holidays, depending on the regional calendar. These regional
holidays are decided by the respective state governments.
The customers can plan the bank-related work as per the holidays to avoid any last-minute hassle. Internet banking services and ATMs will remain operational throughout the country on all
bank holidays in February.
List of state-wise bank holidays in February 2024
4 February: Sunday.
10 February: Second Saturday and Losar in Gangtok.
11 February: Sunday.
14 February: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Odisha, and West Bengal on account of Basanta Panchami or Saraswati Puja.
15 February: Banks to remain closed in Manipur for Lui-Ngai-Nin.
18 February: Sunday.
19 February: Banks to remain closed in Maharashtra for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
20 February: Banks to remain closed in Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh for Statehood Day.
24 February: Fourth Saturday.
25 February: Sunday.
26 February: Bank holiday in Arunachal Pradesh due to Nyokum.
As per the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, all the private and public sector banks remain closed on every second and fourth Saturday of the month, apart from Sundays.
All the bank holidays fall under three categories— holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Holidays under the Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
