Govt seeks company-wise data from automobile sector to boost local component manufacturing

The government has sought company-wise data from the automobile sector, as it aims to increase local manufacturing of vehicle components -- tyres, electric vehicle parts, etc. The government is also considering something on the lines of ''global champions scheme'' in order to improve self-reliance in the auto sector, reports Parikshit Luthra.
