Market holiday on Dussehra: Sensex, Nifty to not open for trading today

India’s stock exchanges BSE and NSE will remain closed on Tuesday, October 24, for Dussehra, with trading in the equity, equity derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments unavailable. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also remain closed for both morning and evening sessions on all holidays.

Overall, in October, the domestic equity market will remain closed for trading for a total of 11 days, including four Saturdays and five Sundays. BSE opens at 9 am and closes at 3.30 pm, operating normally from Monday to Friday. Located in Mumbai, BSE is the oldest stock exchange in India and the third biggest in the world.

The stock exchanges will open on November 12 (Tuesday) for one hour for a special ‘muhurat’ trading session on the occasion of Diwali.
