SP Tulsian of sptulsian.com believes that 7-8 oil and gas stocks including Indraprastha Gas (IGL), Mahanagar Gas (MGL), Petronet LNG, Gujarat Gas, and GSPL have "tremendous potential".
“There is no reason why one should not look for OMCs. We have been taking a positive call on oil and gas stocks... sometimes we only focus on Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), BPCL, and HPCL, but we forget that there are 7-8 oil and gas stocks available which are seen to be having tremendous potential," he said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.
Talking about the June series, Tulsian said, “You have events lined up... the RBI policy and then the Budget, new finance minister coming in, etc. will keep the mood cheerful."
On the West Coast Paper and International Paper deal, he said, “This will be positive going forward for West Coast and I will not be surprised to see if the company gets merged. However, I am fearing that probably there may be some kind of competitive bid. Maybe ITC or JK Group can come and say that even we are prepared to acquire at a much higher price... however, purely from this deal having executed, this is seen extremely positive for West Coast, but quite surprising to see promoters of International Paper exiting at such a low rate.”
