Engineering & Construction conglomerate Larsen and Toubro Ltd. on Thursday, March 14, said L&T Energy Hydrocarbon recently secured a "major" onshore gas pipeline project from a client in the Middle East.
Orders in the ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore range are classifed as 'major' by L&T.
The scope of work will include engineering, procurement and construction of two new 56" pipelines with associated scraper receivers and launches and main line isolation valve (MLIV) stations, running parallel to the existing pipeline corridor, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
"This is the largest cross-country pipeline EPC project awarded to us till date and we are excited to bring our expertise to this strategic project," said Subramanian Sarma, the whole-time director and senior executive vice-president (energy), L&T.
On Tuesday, March 13, L&T's buildings and factories vertical bagged a 'significant' order from AIIMS Madurai in Tamil Nadu. The company will be constructing a 720-bed hospital, 150-bed infectious diseases block, 30-bed AYUSH block, 150-seat medical college, nursing college, 750-seater auditorium, hostel and residential facilities, it said in a stock exchange filing. The project will be executed within 33 months and the total built up area is 2.1 million square feet.
L&T shares were trading 1.13% higher at ₹3,578.55 apiece at 10.15 AM on March 14. The stock has gained 66.96% in the past year.
