Railways will run a glass-enclosed vistadome coach on Kalka-Shimla route.
It is built locally in 100 days at a cost of around Rs 10 lakh. The seating capacity is 36 seats which is likely to cost over Rs 500 per seat.
Hop-on-hop-off service is also introduced in the Kalka-Shimla section. You can get off at any station on the route, spend some time and hop back on the next train.
This is the first time this service has been introduced in any train and will be available from December 15 - February 15.
Kalka-Shimla railway section is a UNESCO world heritage site.
