Heavy rainfall in Gujarat on Sunday resulted in flooding in low-lying areas and the isolation of several villages. The
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Panchmahal, Dahod, Kheda, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Banaskantha, and Sabarkantha districts, predicting isolated instances of extremely heavy rainfall until Tuesday morning.
The IMD has forecasted light to moderate rainfall in many Indian states, with some regions expecting heavy to very heavy downpours, continuing until September 21.
Similar weather patterns are anticipated in several northeastern Indian states, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 17 to 21, in Assam and Meghalaya from September 18 to 21, and in Arunachal Pradesh on September 20 and 21.
There is a high probability of isolated exceptionally heavy rainfall in southeastern Rajasthan on September 17-18. Furthermore, on September 18 and 19, a few isolated regions in Saurashtra and Kutch may also experience very heavy rainfall.

Delhi: The national capital is likely to experience predominantly cloudy skies with the potential for very light rain or drizzle. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to reach around 34 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Himachal Pradesh: Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is likely to witness thunder with rain. The maximum and minimum temperatures are projected to hover around 24 and 16 degrees Celsius, with thunderstorms and lightning warnings for isolated places.
Maharashtra: In Maharashtra, fairly widespread rainfall is expected, with South Konkan, Goa, and North Madhya Maharashtra likely to witness rainfall. South Madhya Maharashtra, East Vidarbha, and West Vidarbha may experience scattered rainfall.
Gujarat: The
Narmada and other rivers are flowing at full capacity. In response to the situation, 9,600 individuals were relocated to safer locations, and 207 others were rescued across five districts. In Ahmedabad, significant waterlogging occurred due to 76 mm of rainfall in a 12-hour period, ending at 6 pm on Sunday, severely disrupting normal life. Underpasses were blocked to traffic as a precautionary measure.
The Delhi Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted overcast conditions in specific areas of the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) until September 20. Additionally, September 18 is expected to bring cloudy weather with the possibility of scattered light rain and drizzle in various parts of Delhi NCR. Meanwhile, September 19 and 20 are anticipated to have partly cloudy skies prevailing throughout the entire region.
