Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the 110th episode of his radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, February 25, urging first-time voters to come forward in large numbers and vote in the upcoming elections.

The prime minister mentioned that the country was proud of its energetic and enthusiastic youth. Announcing the Election Commission’s ‘Mera Pehla Vote-Desh Ke Liye’ campaign, PM Modi urged the individuals turning 18 to cast their votes to elect people to the 18th Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Information & Broadcast and Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur shared the ‘Mera Pehla Vote- Desh Ke Liye’ anthem to encourage the young and new voters to exercise their right to vote.

“…I urge all of you to join the Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye campaign and encourage young voters to exercise their democratic rights. Here it is, Tune in now to the Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye Anthem and share it with everyone,” Thakur posted on X.

Thakur added, “Let’s take the campaign forward in our own ways & styles. Let’s embrace this responsibility and celebrate the power of our collective voices online and in the colleges!”

The two-minute and 56-second anthem showcases the youngsters of the country from different regions. The anthem tells the first-time voters, ‘Banega Desh Mahan- Jab Vote Karenge Hum’.

PM Modi has also asked prominent personalities, including sports personalities, people from the film industry, literature, other professionals, and Instagram and YouTube influencers to actively participate in the campaign.

PM Modi stressed that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was a programme prepared by the people, for the people, through the people. He also said that ahead of the election, the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme will halt for the next three months.

He also mentioned that even though the programme was going to halt, people should keep posting about the achievements of the society on social media with the hashtag ‘Mann Ki Baat’. He also requested the listeners to share short videos in the form of YouTube Shorts from previous episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
