The expanded facility of the Supreme Court of India will be built with the next 75 to 100 years in mind, the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said in an exclusive interview with CNN News18. 
In January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the government will spend ₹800 crore on a new building for the country’s top court, which would 27 new courtrooms and other facilities for lawyers and litigants. 
“In designing the new building, which we are about to commence construction of, the The most important stakeholder in the legal profession is the litigator who comes to court with the grievances,” Chandrachud said on March 21.
