It's like a dream come true, says Chetan Dutta — the blaster who will push button to bring down Supertech towers

Chetan Dutta, a 49-year-old blaster from Hisar in Haryana, will be the one pushing the button to bring down Noida's Supertech twin towers to rubble. The towers are set to be demolished at 2.30 pm on Sunday.

Some people dream of building towers, but Chetan Dutta, a 49-year-old blaster from Hisar in Haryana, dreamt of demolishing one. Back in August 2021, when the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of Supertech's twin towers in Noida, Dutta “prayed” to be the one who pushed that button to bring the towers down to rubble. On Sunday, his dream will come true and he will demolish Supertech’s Apex and Ceyane towers.
Taller than Delhi's iconic Qutub Minar, the nearly 100-metre-high towers in Noida's Sector 93A are set to be demolished at 2.30 pm on August 28.
Edifice Engineering, which has been tasked with demolishing the towers, approached Dutta’s firm to supply explosives for the task. "When the Supreme Court's decision came, someone forwarded a message (about it) on WhatsApp and I prayed to God that I should be given an opportunity to demolish the building. I did not expect to be chosen though," said Dutta.
