Actors Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan-starrer supernatural horror thriller film 'Shaitaan' hit screens worldwide on Friday, March 8. The film promises to be a nerve-racking ride and has received a good response at the box office. As per initial reports, the film looks all set to collect in double digits on the opening day.
Directed by Vikas Bahl of 'Chillar Party' and 'Queen' fame, the film also features Jyothika and Janki Bodiwala in pivotal roles.
So far, 'Shaitaan' has earned around ₹4.48 crore at the domestic box office across all languages, according to sacnilk.com. The film witnessed an overall occupancy of 13.54% during the morning shows.
In Mumbai, it saw an occupancy of 18% across 1,046 shows, while in the National Capital Region, the overall occupancy in morning shows was 12% in 1,159 shows.
As per early trends, 'Shaitaan' is expected to mint over ₹14 crore nett on its opening day and also stands a chance to cross the ₹15 crore mark depending on the night shows, Box Office Worldwide reported.

An official remake of the Gujarati film 'Vash', the Vikas Bahl directorial tells the story of a family that goes on a vacation to a secluded village, where they come across a mysterious person, who claims to be their well-wisher. However, the stranger turns out to have a sinister motive and uses black magic to manipulate and torment the family.

The film has been jointly produced by Jio Studios, Devgn Films and Panorama Studios.
The Gujarat film, 'Vash', was written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik and was released on February 10 last year.
It featured Janki Bodiwala, Hitu Kanodia, Niilam Paanchal, Aaryab Sanghvi and Hiten Kumar among others.
