In the blast at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) lube plant in Chennai’s Tondiarpet on Wednesday, one individual is reportedly dead and another was badly injured.
Five fire extinguishing vehicles were sent to the spot promptly.
According to sources, short circuit has been identified as the cause of the incident when the sludge tank was being cleaned, as per initial reports. The injured person has been rushed to the hospital.
