In a remarkable display of international unity and empathy, a joint statement was issued on Sunday (September 10) by prominent global leaders following the catastrophic earthquake that struck Morocco on September 9.
The statement, signed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, President Azali Assoumani of the African Union and the Comoros, President Emmanuel Macron of France, World Bank President Ajay Banga, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, conveyed their unwavering solidarity with the Moroccan authorities and people during this trying time.
