Ganesh Chaturthi 2023 is just a few days away and grand arrangements have already begun. Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav, holds special significance for Hindus as it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born on this day.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023 Date and Muhurat
According to the Hindu Panchang, the Chaturthi (fourth day) of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Bhadrapada month will start on September 18 at 02:09 PM and continue until September 19 at 03:13 PM. Therefore, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19.
The auspicious puja muhurat time will prevail from 11:01 AM to 01:26 PM.
Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Ritual
As per the scriptures, on
Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees should take a morning bath and thoroughly clean the place of worship. They should perform the proper worship of Lord Ganesha. During the puja muhurat, place a new cloth on a clean platform and install the idol of Lord Ganesha facing the north eastern direction.
Flowers and fruits are offered to Lord Ganesh during the puja. In Maharashtra, Modak is offered to Lord Ganesh as Prasad. The puja ritual is concluded with aarti.
Ganesh Visarjan 2023 Date
Ganesh Chaturthi is a 10-day festival across Maharashtra. As per the panchang, the visarjan of Lord Ganesh will be held after 10 days on September 28. On this day, the idols of Lord Ganesh will be immersed in the sea or nearby water bodies.
