The Delhi Police have issued a fresh advisory for commuters on the second day of the farmers ‘Delhi Chalo’
protest march. Late Tuesday night, the authorities said that owing to the ‘
Delhi Chalo’ march, the farmers may try to move towards the national capital from adjoining states by various means to participate in the protest.
The advisory said that the NH-44 beyond the Singhu Border has been shut for general traffic, while other connected roads towards NH-44 Sonipat or Panipat are also affected. However, 02 lanes of NH-9 and 01 lanes of NH-24 at Ghazipur Border are operational for the general public.
"Because of the ongoing farmers' protest at various borders of Delhi, traffic diversions will be in place,"
Delhi Police tweeted.
Alternate routes
The traffic advisory mentioned that the 02 lanes of DND are also operational for the commuters. To avoid congestion and slow traffic movement, the advisory suggested some alternative routes for the commuters of the Singhu Border and adjacent areas moving towards NH-44.
Commuters going to
Haryana on NH-44 and reaching Apsara Border Maharajpur Border can take the alternate route to Dabur Chowk Mohan Nagar- Ghaziabad - Hapur Road - GT Road - Delhi Meerut Expressway.
Vehicles going to Haryana on NH-44 reaching the Loni Border can divert to the Inderpuri Loni – Puja Pavi – Panchlok – Mandola – Mussoorie – Khekra route.
Commuters travelling to Haryana on NH-44 and Sabhapur Border should take the service lane Delhi Dehradun Expressway – Mandola Mussoorie – Khekra.
The traffic coming from Ghaziabad towards Delhi may enter from Maharajpur Border near ISBT Anand Vihar via Vaishali- Kaushambi.
In the other traffic advisory released at midnight, the Delhi Traffic Police highlighted the traffic diversions around Tikri Border, Jharoda Border, and Dhansa Border.
It stated that vehicles intending to move towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Gurugram via Rohtak Road, and Najafgarh-Jharoda Road can take the below-mentioned alternate routes. They are:
Commuters can take a left turn from Nangloi Chowk to Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Phirni Road to Delhi Gate Stand to Chhawla Stand to Najafgarh-Chawla Road to Jhatikra Mor to Jhatikra village to Jhatikra border.
They can also take a left turn from MIA Metro Station to Bakkarwala Road to Nangloi Najafgarh Road to Nangloi Stand to Najafgarh Phirni Road to Delhi Gate Stand to Chhawla Stand to Dhansa Stand to Dhansa Road to Jaffarpur Kalan Village, Rawta Mor to Dauralla Road-Ujwa Village to Rawta Village to Daurala border.
Can also take a left from MIA Metro Station to Bakkarwala Road to Nangloi Najafgarh Road to Nangloi Stand to Najafgarh Phirni Road to Delhi Gate Stand to Chhawla Stand to Najafgarh Chhawla Road to Jhatikra Mor and Jhatikra Village to Jhatikra Border.
Delhi Chalo March
The Farmers’ Protest 2.0 called ‘Delhi Chalo’ began on Tuesday, February 13. It involves farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh headed by over 200 unions. Following day one, farmers halted the march temporarily in the evening. However, it resumed on Wednesday morning.
The Delhi Police are undertaking strict security measures on the city borders.
