The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court has sanctioned Raghav Magunta Reddy, son of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party's (YSRCP) MP from Ongole, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, to become an approver in the CBI case concerning Delhi's excise policy.
Special judge MK Nagpal, in an order passed on Thursday, approved Raghav's plea to be moved under 306 CrPC, seeking court permission to become an approver and receive a pardon in the case.
Recently, the court also granted anticipatory bail to Raghav. Notably, he was not specifically named as an accused in the FIR of the case, nor were any entities pertaining to him or his family members mentioned, according to an ANI report.
In the reply filed by the CBI, the agency said that Raghav has cooperated in the investigation, attending summons and disclosing vital facts during statements recorded under Section 161 CrPC and 164(2) CrPC, ANI said.
The court highlighted that the CBI did not find any instance of Raghav influencing witnesses in the case during the investigation. Consequently, the CBI did not oppose his request for anticipatory bail.
Raghav was recently granted the approver status in the Delhi excise policy money laundering case under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate.
