The shareholders of Fortis Healthcare have voted for removal of Dr Brian Tempest and have ratified the appointment of three board members nominated by Eastbridge Capital Fund and Jupiter India – Suvalaxmi Chakraborty, Ravi Rajagopal and Indrajit Banerjee, the company said in an exchange filing.
Since, Harpal Singh, Sabina Vaisoha and Lt Gen Tejinder Singh Shergill resigned before the extraordinary general meeting (EGM), the resolution to remove them has become infructuous, it said.
The much awaited Fortis Healthcare EGM was held in Delhi on Tuesday and barely lasted for half an hour, with sparse attendance.
The EGM was called on behalf of the East Bridge Capital Fund and Jupiter India Fund, that hold around 12% in the company, to vote on two resolutions.
