Mumbai records overall AQI at 149, air quality remains ‘moderate’ in many areas

As per the SAFAR data, the Bandra- Kurla Complex recorded a ‘moderate’ AQI at 199, Borivali East at 138, Chembur at 150, Colaba at 152, Chakala- Andheri East at 113 and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport terminal 2 at 169.

The air quality in Mumbai continued to remain in the ‘moderate’ category on Wednesday, November 8. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 149, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR)-India data.
As per the SAFAR data, the Bandra-Kurla Complex recorded a ‘moderate’ AQI at 199, Borivali East at 138, Chembur at 150, Colaba at 152, Chakala-Andheri East at 113, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport terminal 2 at 169, Deonar at 167, Kandivali East at 157, and Malad West at 184, all falling into the ‘moderate’ category.
However, visuals shared by news agency ANI showed the AQI in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) area dropped into the ‘Very Poor’ category on Wednesday morning.
