Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, announced on Thursday (October 26) that a significant expansion of green hydrogen-powered buses is set to take place in Delhi by December 15, marking a substantial step towards eco-friendly public transportation in the capital city.
Speaking at the launch of India's first reference fuel, Minister Puri shared his optimism about the green energy transition and set ambitious targets for the country's sustainable future. "The green energy transition target of 2047 is achievable, and it might be possible to reach this milestone even before the expected year," he stated, highlighting India's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and embracing renewable energy sources.
He highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to explore and expand green energy sources across the country, promising to go public with the results of some exploration efforts in the near future.
