We are into the last week of February, and several exciting web shows and movies are lined up for release in theatres near you and on different OTT platforms. From comedy web series like ‘Sunflower’ to action-thrillers such as ‘Operation Valentine’, the week will serve content enthusiasts with some options.
Here’s a list of the upcoming OTT and theatre releases this week which you can enjoy watching with family and friends.
1. Sunflower Season 2 (Zee5)
Navin Gujral directed ‘Sunflower S2’ will start streaming on the OTT platform Zee5 on March 1. Featuring Sunil Grover, Adah Sharma, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Ranvir Shorey among others, the series offers a blend of humour with mystery. It revolves around the investigation of a murder in a housing society named Sunflower.
2. Laapataa Ladies (Theatre)
Comedy-drama ‘Laapataa Ladies’, directed by Kiran Rao, is all set to premiere in theatres on March 1. Set in the backdrop of 2001 in a rural region, the movie revolves around the challenges in the life of a young man when he loses his bride during a train journey.
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film features Atishay Jain Akhil, Nitanshi Goel, Kirti Shreeyansh Jain, and Ravi Kishan among others.
3. Maamla Legal Hai (Netflix)
Rahul Pandey helmed courtroom drama, ‘Maamla Legal Hai’, narrates the story of thought-provoking legal battles with a hint of comedy. Set in the backdrop of the District Court in Patparganj, New Delhi, it revolves around people who tackle cases with quirk.
‘Maamla Legal Hai’ is set to premiere on OTT platform Netflix on March 1. It features Ravi Kishan, Nidhi Bisht, Yashpal Sharma, Naila Grewal, and Anant Joshi among others.
4. Kaagaz 2 (Theatre)
Directed by VK Prakash, ‘Kaagaz 2’ is a sequel to the 2021 film ‘Kaagaz’. It features Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Satish Kaushik, Anang Desai, Darshan Kumar, and Anirudh Dave in important roles. The film, around the struggles of a common man whose right to life gets violated by protests and rallies, is set to release in theatres on March 1.
5. Five Nights at Freddy’s (JioCinema)
Months after the theatrical release of this supernatural horror, ‘Five Nights at Freddy's’ is all geared up to premiere on the OTT platform JioCinema on February 27. Emma Tammi helmed the film featuring Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, Piper Rubio, and Mary Stuart Masterson among others.
6. Operation Valentine (Theatre)
Action-thriller ‘Operation Valentine’ showcases the heroes of the Air Force and the challenges faced by them during one of the fiercest aerial attacks in India. Featuring Manushi Chhillar, Varun Tej, Ruhani Sharma, and Mir Sarwar among others, the film has been directed by Shakti Pratap Singh. ‘Operation Valentine’ is set to hit the big screen on March 1.
