Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi's ‘Merry Christmas’ to clash with Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Yodha’ at box office

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas, which was previously scheduled to hit the big screen on December 15, is now going to be released a week early on December 8. The release date of Merry Christmas has been reportedly postponed as the previously scheduled date was clashing with Siddharth Malhotra’s Yodha.

While sharing the updates, film trade expert and critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi Merry Christmas to arrive one week early... 8 Dec 2023 is the new release date of Merry Christmas, which stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi for the first time. Merry Christmas directed by Sriram Raghavan is shot in two languages Hindi and Tamil with different supporting actors.”

Merry Christmas has been reportedly shot simultaneously in two languages, with different supporting actors. Supporting actors in the Hindi version of the movie include Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand. On the other hand, the Tamil version of the film features Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams.

Following the reports of preponing the release date of Merry Christmas, the maker and presenter of Siddharth Malhotra’s Yodha, Karan Johar announced the changed release date of the film on Instagram. The filmmaker wrote, “We are all set to land in cinemas on 8th December, 2023!”

Yodha is an action drama directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. It stars Siddharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in lead roles. Previously, the release of the movie has been postponed twice. According to reports, it was earlier scheduled to release in November 2022 and then the release was deferred to July this year.

Apart from the clash of Yodha and Merry Christmas, December will also be witnessing the clash of another two big films at the box office, Prabhas starrer Salaar and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki on December 22.

Another much anticipated movie, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal will be a standalone release on December 1. The movie also features Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
