Former journalist Jigna Vora is reportedly set to enter the Bigg Boss house. The former Asian Age journalist was arrested and later acquitted for her alleged involvement in the murder of Mid-Day reporter Jyotirmoy Dey in 2011.
Reports suggest that Vora will enter Salman Khan's controversial show's 17th season which is scheduled to premiere today, i.e. October 15. As per reports, Ankita Lokhande and her husband Vicky Jain, Mannara Chopra, Neil Bhatt will also be part of the show. Actress Manasvi Mamgai and comedian and Lock Upp winner Munawar Faruqui had earlier confirmed their participation.
Following the false acquisition, Vora spent nine months in prison and later wrote a book 'Buy Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison' about her experiences. The book was the basis of Hansal Mehta's Netflix show 'Scoop'.
On June 11, 2011, Dey was murdered by unidentified assailants in Hiranandani, Powai. Vora, who was the deputy bureau chief of the Asian Age newspaper’s Mumbai bureau at the time, was charged under MCOCA for being the mastermind behind the journalist's murder. She was accused of giving infamous gangster Chhota Rajan details about Dey's residence and the license plate number of his bike.
Vora was later found not guilty and was acquitted in 2018.
