As climate change takes center-stage in global policymaking, the transition to clean energy is no longer a pipe dream. It’s an urgent need.
In the recently contested US elections, battling climate change was one of the key agendas of the Joe Biden campaign. As part of his presidential transition, Biden has named former secretary of state John Kerry as the next US climate envoy. Kerry was one of the leading architects of the Paris accord, which Biden has pledged to get the US back into.
In fact, global investments in clean energy assets touched $300 billion in 2019 and in India, the Prime Minister Modi has set the target for growth of renewable energy from the current installed capacity of 90 gigawatts to 450 gigawatts by 2030.
