The online application process for the recruitment of
State Bank of India Probationary Officers (PO) ends today, October 3. The recruitment drive aims to fill PO 2,000 vacancies in
SBI. Initially, the application deadline was September 27, 2023.
The application process can be completed on the
SBI official website, sbi.co.in. The recruitment process is divided into three phases: Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. Candidates successful in the initial phases will progress to subsequent rounds, culminating in the selection of suitable candidates.

Exam Date
The preliminary examination for SBI PO 2023 is slated for November. While the exact date has not been announced yet, candidates are advised to keep an eye out for updates on the official website. Pre-exam training will be conducted by
SBI prior to the examination to help candidates prepare effectively.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a graduate’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification from any government-approved institute. Final year/semester students can also apply provisionally, provided they can produce proof of graduation by December 31, 2023. Additionally, candidates with qualifications in fields such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy are eligible to apply.
Age Limit and Relaxation
Applicants must be between 21 to 30 years old as of April 1, 2023. Age relaxation is provided for various categories: Five years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, three years for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) and specific relaxation periods for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) based on their category. Ex-servicemen, including Commissioned Officers, may also avail a relaxation of five years based on specific criteria.
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to the General, EWS and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 750. However, there is no application fee for candidates from SC, ST and PwBD categories.
Application Process
To apply, candidates should visit the official SBI website (sbi.co.in), and check the ‘apply for PO’ link in the careers section.
After registration, applicants need to fill up the application form, attach the necessary documents and pay the application fee. The application form edit window will close today, October 3, and candidates can download their application form until October 18 for future reference.
