ICAI shares new assessment criteria for CA Final Integrated Business Solutions paper

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has shared the assessment criteria and exam duration for the CA Final Paper 6 – Integrated Business Solutions, which was introduced under the new scheme of education and training. As per the revised format, it will now be an open book and case-study-based examination.

The CA Final Paper 6 assesses students' ability to analyse and integrate concepts from corporate laws, finance, business strategy, accounting, taxation, auditing, and management in practical case scenarios.

The exam duration will be four hours, the council states.

As per the assessment criteria, each case study of 25 marks has been divided into 40% for multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 60% for descriptive questions. In total, the exam paper will consist of five such case studies, carrying 25 marks each. The candidates will have to attempt any four, amounting to a total of 100 marks.

This paper is designed with the primary objective of assessing students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge in cases of practical scenarios. The format of this exam reflects a departure from the traditional testing methods.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has come up with a new scheme of education and training in alignment with the International Education Standards and the National Education Policy, 2020, reflecting its commitment to providing a robust education framework for aspiring chartered accountants in the country.

ICAI has described Integrated Business Solutions as a multidisciplinary case study with strategic management.
