The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has circulated a draft cabinet note for a production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware systems. The estimated outlay of the scheme is around Rs 7,350 crore over the next four years.
As per sources, this scheme proposes an incentive of up to 4 percent for four years on the incremental net sales of goods made in India. The scheme will be applicable on laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, and servers.
A Nodal or a project management agency will be responsible for the implementation of the scheme. The agency will scrutinize the applications that come under the PLI.
As per sources, the scheme will be notified within one week of cabinet approval.
