Tech Mahindra is poised for further growth and success, with Mahindra Group CEO and MD Anish Shah setting ambitious targets and expressing confidence in the company's ability to continue its positive trajectory. Shah expressed a commitment to achieving a 5x growth target over the next five years, and completing the turnaround of Tech Mahindra within the next 2-3 years.
"Tech Mahindra is on a good turnaround path now. we've had a very good year, we've achieved everything that we set out to, and that just sets the bar higher for next year," Shah said in an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18 Managing Editor Shereen Bhan on the sidelines of the
World Economic Forum (WEF) at the Swiss resort town of Davos.
Shah highlighted the achievements of the past year, stating that the company had met all set objectives, raising the bar for the upcoming year. Shah acknowledged the challenge of surpassing the high standards they've set but affirmed their readiness for it.
"...One thing we haven't done very well is set lower expectations and meet them. Sometimes you set high expectations that with them, as someone said a long time back, you know, your reward for doing well is, you know, just more of the same," Shah added.
Looking ahead, Shah emphasised the need for Tech Mahindra to complete its turnaround, placing it on a robust path within the next few years. He discussed growth prospects in various business segments, particularly renewables and the three-wheeler electric business, expressing optimism about their progress.
"...we have fairly high set of expectations and goals for this year as well. We want Tech Mahindra to complete its turnaround on won't be a very strong project before turn around completion, it will take two to three years by the time it's completely done. But at least we want to put it in a very, very strong path, my financial completed this year."
"And as we think about our auto and our businesses, which would continue in a very strong trajectory, you think about a growth James, we want to start delivering 5x over the next five years, and we've seen two businesses come out very strongly on that renewables, as well as three wheeler electric business, other businesses are starting to show good progress. And they need to be able to show a very strong story on that front," he added.
In alignment with India's aspirations and the current optimism in the country, Shah aims for rapid growth, reflecting the dynamic landscape. "So essentially, we want to be at a growth level that that's a very rapid growth level, in line with what we see India's aspirations and the optimism that we see in India today," he further said.
