The opening of restaurants in Maharashtra gives hopes that cinema halls too will reopen soon in the state and it is now just a matter of time, said PVR's CMD Ajay Bijli on Thursday.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18 on the Centre's Unlock 5.0, Bijli said that the opening of cinemas from October 15 with a 50 percent capacity is very good news.
“We have been shut for 7 months and we have been in choppy waters for a long time. So some rope coming towards us as a lifeboat is really a welcome move,” he added.
On the business front, he said we have already cuts costs considerably; most of our costs are now variable. We expect footfalls to pick up from November when big releases hit screens, added Bijli.
