Saab begins construction of new manufacturing facility in India for Carl-Gustaf M4 weapons

Saab FFVO India Pvt Ltd. will entirely own the new manufacturing facility and is looking to begin production in 2025 and will become the first defence company to receive approval for 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) by the Indian government.

Swedish defence and security company Saab has started construction of a new facility in India to manufacture Carl-Gustaf M4 weapons for the Indian Armed Forces. The facility is being built at the MET City in Haryana’s Jhajjar. 
Saab will become the first defence company to receive approval for 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) from the Indian government for its newly established company Saab FFVO India Pvt. Ltd. The Swedish company will fully own the new manufacturing facility and is looking to begin production in 2025.
The company will employ complex technologies, including sighting technology and advanced carbon fibre winding, to manufacture the shoulder-launched weapon.
