Captain Shivani Kulkarni encouraged young girls to get into aviation as it offers limitless possibility. She has etched her name in history as the first woman pilot from Vidarbha to soar into the ranks of the Indian Air Force.
At the CNBC-TV18's 'Future Female Forward - Season 2' event, Captain Kulkarni said, "It is a limitless possibility. Sky isn't the limit now, universe is the limit. Aviation is the best and the safest profession."
Commissioned in 1998, her journey took a significant turn with the outbreak of the Kargil War, where she courageously served as a transport pilot. Steering the Antonov AN32 aircraft through challenging skies, she exemplified valor and skill.
