Ola Electric on Sunday, October 29, issued a statement on recent reports regarding the company's scooter catching fire in Pune. According to the two-wheeler manufacturer, the customer is safe and unharmed.
Videos shared online on X, formerly known as Twitter, showed the Ola S1 Pro catching fire, marking the
second such incident in just over a year.
Amid rising safety concerns, Ola put out a statement acknowledging the incident and ensuring the rider's safety.
"We have received a report of an incident with one of our scooters in Pune yesterday. The customer is safe and unharmed," the company wrote.
Ola Electric also noted that the company have initiated an investigation which revealed that aftermarket parts used in the scooter led to a short circuit. The vehicle's battery, however, is intact and functional, it said.
The company went on to highlight the importance of safety and quality standards. It also urged the use of genuine spare parts of accessories for safety and support.
"At Ola, safety is the highest priority and we follow stringent vehicle safety & quality standards. We urge our customers to only use genuine spare parts and accessories for all service requirements and contact us online or through the nearest Ola Experience Centre for support," the press release read.
