Minda Industries: Demand uptick continues post festive season

The Minda Industries management has indicated that the demand has improved across categories and the best performing segments are passenger vehicles and tractors. Sunil Bohra, Executive Director and Group Chief Financial Officer at Minda Industries shared his views and outlook on business going forward. "There is a strong demand currently visible and there is a consistent volume which has been on the uptick," he said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

"On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) and on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, there has been a sustained demand and even post festive season, the demand momentum continues," he said.

Bohra is very optimistic about the second half of FY21. "Considering the fact that on MoM, there has been an improvement in the demand. Even after the festive season. The demand has been improving and on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, things are much better than what they were pre-COVID levels," he said.

In terms of capacity utilisation, he said, "From the capacity perspective, we may be somewhere between 90 percent and 95 percent in the overall business perspective. The numbers for January and February look in-line or better than what they were in December. So we do expect that kind of capacity utilisation to continue."
