Bharat Mobility to be an annual event as govt aims to benefit mobility sector from better logistics

The Narendra Modi government is aiming to make Bharat Mobility Global Expo an annual event to be able to help benefit the mobility sector from better logistics.

Stating that 1,000 plus exhibitors, over 1.28 lakh registered visitors, including 34,000 business visitors attended the expo, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Piyush Goyal said the exhibition covered even the massive Bharat Mandapam.

As per pointed out that the space of 11 lakh square feet fell short of demand and additional hangars had to be made for the display of vehicles, he said on a lighter note that thankfully the vehicles displayed outside were rain resistant otherwise they would've sought damages from the government.

With product launches and investments in states initiated in the 20-plus conferences held, the Minister said that while the Ministries of External Affairs (MEA), New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Heavy Industries and MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) participated, many government departments and ministries couldn't be accommodated due to lack of space.

For instance, the petroleum companies that wanted to showcase new kinds of fuel, the Mines Ministry, and the bicycle industry couldn't be accommodated.

Stating that people from all across India along with industry bodies related to the automobile sector were present, he explained that exhibitors also sent teams out to see the rest of the exhibition to come to know of ways of import substitution.

Speaking to Product-Linked Incentive (PLI) beneficiaries at Bharat Mandapam, the minister welcomed constructive criticism from the various industrial sectors for better facilitation and manufacturing growth in the country.
