How things stand in Group C?

That victory means Argentina live to see another day as they move up to second spot in Group C. Mexico move down to bottom spot and now need to beat Saudi Arabia in their final game while also hoping that Poland beat Argentina for them to progress.

FULL TIME! Argentina 2-0 Mexico

That's it then as the Referee blows the full time whistle. Argentina survive thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez. Messi scored with a pinpoint strike from outside the area while Fernandez curled in a beauty to put the result beyond doubt. Argentina now go into their final game with their hopes of making the knockout rounds still alive as they escape an early elimination. 

SIX minutes of Added Time! Can Argentina hold on to this two-goal lead now? 

That was a sublime strike by Fernandez and it makes the remainder of this game so much more comfortable now for Argentina!

WHAT A STRIKE!!! Argentina work a corner short and it's played into the feet of Fernandez who skips into the area, cuts inside and then curls it beautifully into the corner past a diving Ochoa!

Mexico load the penalty box but once again the cross is cleared away and falls to Messi who in turn finds De Paul. The midfielder is running out of gas though and is hacked down as the ball escapes for an Argentina throw-in.

Mexico win a free-kick on the left which is cleared away initially by Argentina. Moreno tries to head it back into the crowded penatly area but this time Emi Martinez comes forward to collect. 

How important could this goal prove for Argentina! 

77' Min: Argentina 1-0 Mexico

ALMOST! Alvarez drives to the byline and cuts it back into the middle for Messi who has it stolen off his toes by the Mexican defence. 

75' Min: Argentina 1-0 Mexico

Argentina are looking to go for the kill as they chase the second goal! Mexico meanwhile are commiting men forward which is leaving open gaps for the Argentina forwards to exploit. 

73' Min - Substitution! Mexico make another change up front a Lozano makes way for Alvarado.
