The BSE Sensex closed 219.25 points lower, or 0.61 percent, to 35,470.35, while the NSE Nifty 50 ended 59.40 points lower, or 0.55 percent lower, to 10,762.45. ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Oil marketing companies draffed Nifty below 10,800 today. Except Nifty IT, all sectoral indices underperformed.

At 3.02pm, the BSE Sensex was trading lower by 175.27 points, or 0.49 percent, to 35,514.33, while the Nifty 50 fell 41.25 points, or 0.38 percent, to 10,780.60. Infosys, Bajaj Finance shares were among top gainers on the Nifty, while Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, HPCL, BPCL were among top losers. PNB Housing Finance remains top gainer by surging nearly 12 percent on the BSE, while Allahabad Bank and Idea were among top losers. Except Nifty IT all sectoral indices on the Nifty were trading lower with Nifty PSU Bank lowest at 2.02 percent.

The BSE Sensex fell over 117 points, or 0.33 percent, to 35,571.80, while the NSE Nifty 50 was down by 33.10 points, or 0.31 percent, to 10,788.75. Meanwhile, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 1,343.44 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1,105.76 crore on Friday, as per provisional data, according to PTI.

InterGlobe Aviation or Indigo shares were trading 10.75 points lower, or 0.91 percent, at Rs1173.95 at 2.05 pm on the BSE.

AstraZeneca was at 52-week high with 29% gain YTD. Pfizer up 27% YTD, GSK Pharma Up 12% YTD and Merck Up 100% YTD. Nifty Pharma was higher at 0.60%.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that 104.6mm of rainfall was recorded between 1-24 June, which is 11% below normal. The IMD also said that the monsoon may cover entire Maharashtra in 24 hours and will likely hit Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in next 48 hours. The seasonal rains are expected to hit Delhi between 29 June and 1 July.

All major Nifty Sectoral Indices were trading in the red, with major exceptions being the IT, Metal, Pharma, Realty which were higher by 0.85 percent, 0.40 percent, 0.60 percent, 0.04 percent respectively.
