Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024: 'There is no right time, don't wait for it', PM Modi advises students to face challenges with confidence

If there are millions of challenges, there are billions of solutions as well. There is nothing like the ‘right’ time, so do not wait for it. Challenges will keep coming, and you must challenge those challenges: PM Modi

Using gadgets should be accompanied by time-tracking tools and applications. Ensure that your gadgets have apps that keep track of your screen time. One should not forget to respect their time while using mobile phones. We should have the wisdom to use technology positively: PM Modi

Not only mobile but excess of anything…doesn’t do anyone any good. There should be a standard for everything, it has a basis. It is very important to have discretion as to how much of anything should be used. We should not run away from technology but should use it positively: PM Modi

“We should develop the habit of being decisive. One should not remain in confusion. If there is any confusion then we should talk about it and resolve it and move ahead”: PM Modi

“When the thought comes to the mind of any teacher how can they remove the stress of the student?… Your relationship with the student should continue to grow from the first day till the exam, then perhaps there will be no stress during the exam days… The day teachers go beyond the curriculum and establish a relationship with students, they (students) will talk to you (teachers) about their thoughts even about their small problems,” PM Modi stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “Many of you must be using mobile phones. Some may have developed the habit of spending hours on it… Just like we need to charge things like mobile phones that we use daily, should we also recharge our bodies if needed?”

PM Modi says “In the era of iPad and mobile, writing habit has decreased. Very few people have the habit of writing, so daily, a minimum of 50 percent of your learning and reading time should be dedicated to writing. Read what you write 2-4 times a day and work on improving it. This will enhance your mastery, helping you determine what and how to write more efficiently over time.”

If there are no challenges in life, life becomes uninspiring and demotivating. Competition and challenges act as inspirations in life, but competition must be healthy: PM Modi

A lot of parents keep on giving examples of other children to their children. Parents should avoid doing these things… We have also seen that those parents who have not been very successful in their lives, have nothing to say or want to tell the world about their successes, and achievements, make the report card of their children as their visiting card. Whenever they meet someone, they will tell them the story of their children: PM Modi

“What competition do you have with your friend? Let’s assume it’s a 100-mark paper. If your friend scores 90, does that leave you with only 10 marks? No, you also have a potential of scoring 100. There is no need to compete with them; you should compete with yourself. There is no need to harbor animosity; in fact, they can become a source of inspiration for you. If this mindset persists, you won’t even make a friend out of a faster and sharper individual…’” PM Modi says.

PM Modi says, there is a lot of pressure around exams but family, teachers, parents, everyone will have to address these concerns around ‘Pariksha’ together. Only students cannot address this alone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the venue of the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024 programme, where he began interacting with students about their innovative projects that have been put on display.

Two students and a teacher from each State and Union Territory, along with winners of the Kala Utsav, have been invited. A hundred students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) will attend for the first time.

An online MCQ competition on the MyGov portal from December 11, 2023, to January 12, 2024, determined participants based on their submitted questions. Selected participants will receive a Pariksha Pe Charcha kit, including the “Exam Warriors” book by the prime minister and a certificate.

From January 12 to January 23, various school-level activities were organised nationwide, such as marathon runs, music and meme competitions, nukkad natak, and student-anchor-student-guest discussions.

The event will be held in a town-hall format at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Students from across the world can also watch the programme live on BJP’s YouTube channel.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on January 27 reviewed the preparations for the seventh edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’.

“Pariksha Pe Charcha has become an annual tradition, that exam warriors, parents and teachers all look forward to, to overcome anxiety and come out with their best. There is excitement amongst everyone for the interaction with the Prime Minister, at PPC 2024, for the most-sought after interaction of the year,” Pradhan said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Pariksha Pe Charcha is one programme which he always looked forward to as it gives him an opportunity to interact with the students and he also tries to mitigate their exam related stress.

“Many innovative efforts have also been undertaken to inspire the students and spread awareness about exam related stress. I urge all of you, especially the youth and students, to join in record numbers tomorrow. I too would love to talk to you,” he said.

A day ahead of his annual ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ interaction with the students, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said it has become a good medium to discuss issues related to education and examinations. In his monthly ‘Mann ki Baat’ broadcast, Modi said over 2.25 crore students have registered for the programme this year, noting that the corresponding number was merely 22,000 in 2018 when it was organised for the first time.
