Budget 2021: Key to success of bad bank is execution

In an interview to CNBC-TV18 Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO and Chairperson, Salesforce India, gave her take on Finance Minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2021 and her outlook on the road ahead.
“This is the first digital budget. FM was reading the budget from the iPad was impressive,” she said.
“Two-three things stand out – one is the commitment to digital and to make everything as far as possible digital. The second is the health infrastructure that is going to come up,” she mentioned.
“The execution is very important. Even if you have a bad bank and you have the assets over there to ensure that the assets become productive, you will need decisions to be taken across departments and people must be empowered to take them without fear because if you don’t do that, we will have the same results that we had earlier where nothing could move because there wasn’t enough coordination between departments,” she said.
