Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and managing director of Apollo Tyres, on Wednesday, said that the freight movement has picked up due to economic reforms and a huge boost in infrastructure.

“Economic reforms have come in, there is a huge boost in infrastructure; infrastructure is playing an important role for the government and that is giving a lot of freight movement," said Kanwar in an interview with CNBC-TV18.
“Personal mobility has gone up because of COVID and passenger cars are up. Farm - as we know, the agriculture segment had been doing well last year and Apollo has made headway gains over here,” he said.
On the distribution front, Kanwar said, “We have gone into rural market distribution. We have added nearly 4,000 distributors in the rural markets. Therefore, market share gains that we have made are sustainable for sure and also government bringing tyres into the import restriction list is a big positive.”
